Fitzpatrick shoots 87 in second round of Canadian Championship

LENNOXVILLE, Que. – Dane Fitzpatrick (Cornwall, Ont.) of the Bishop’s Gaiters posted a score of 87 in the second round of the Canadian College/University Golf Championship today at the Royal Ashburn Golf Club in Ashburn, Ontario.

Fitzpatrick, who is the first-ever Gaiter to complete at the Golf Canada event, had a difficult start to the day, but finished with pars on nine of his last ten holes. He is now 27 over par after 36 holes.

 
The men’s individual leader is UBC’s Andrew Robb, who is at +2 for the tournament. The low score of the day was posted by Brennan Rumancik of Lethbridge College and Kolby Kniel of Mount Royal University, who both shot +1 (73).
 
Fitzpatrick will tee off at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday (June 2) in the third round of the 72-hole event.
