Former Bishop's Gaiter, RBC Wall of Distinction member, two-time national champion and Olympian Andrea Blackwell will be inducted into the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame in the athlete category in 2013. The announcement was made Wednesday, May 15. The official release from Canada Basketball is below.

SHERBROOKE – The head coach of the Bishop’s Gaiters women’s basketball team, Alex Perno will take on a new offseason challenge as he has been chosen to lead the Canada-Quebec women’s basketball squad at the Francophonie Games this year. The seventh edition of the games will take place from September 6-15, 2013 in Nice, France.

SHERBROOKE – The Bishop’s Gaiters Department of Athletics and Recreation summer camp registration is underway.  This year four different sport camps will be offered over four weeks during the summertime.   Each camp will be led by one of the Gaiters coaches.  The camps being offered include: football, basketball, soccer and golf.

MONTREAL – For their last game of the regular season the Bishop’s Gaiters basketball teams headed to Montreal to visit the Concordia Stingers. The men looked to better their chances in the final RESQ standings while the women looked for an upset. The Lady Gaiters fell to Concordia 70-51 in a hard fought match. The men dropped the their game to the Stingers 72-63.

SHERBROOKE, QC – The Bishop’s Gaiters basketball teams will play their sixteenth and final regular season games on Thursday, February 21 when they travel to Montreal to face the Concordia Stingers. The women will aim to play spoiler while the men look to clinch a home playoff date.

MONTREAL, QC – The Gaiters basketball teams travelled to Montreal on Saturday to face the McGill Martlets and Redmen. The full house in Love Competition Hall witnessed two hard fought battles, with McGill winning both. The Bishop’s women fell 72–31 and the men lost 78-60. 

SHERBROOKE, QC – The Rouge et Or came to Lennoxville on Wednesday night to face the Bishop’s Gaiters in their final regular season home games. The Bishop’s women fought hard in a tight game but came up short, falling 58-51. The Gaiters men rolled over the Rouge et Or 69-53.

SHERBROOKE, QC – The Bishop’s Gaiters men’s and women’s basketball teams will play their last home games of the regular season on Wednesday, February 13 in Mitchell Gymnasium. The Laval Rouge et Or will be in town. The women will tipoff at 6 p.m. and the men will follow at 8 p.m.

SHERBROOKE, QC – On a beautiful Sunday afternoon of winter homecoming the Bishop’s Gaiters faced off against the Concordia Stingers. The senior’s game was postponed from Friday night due to inclement weather. With alumni and family in the stands the Lady Gaiters lost a well-fought game 69-45 and the men won 84-71.
