Football
Leroy is currently considered to be one of the most accomplished football players to ever play at Bishop’s. From 1986 to 1988 Leroy displayed his awesome talent as a linebacker.
Leroy’s accomplishments were unparalleled - three time All-Canadian as well as a three-time OQIFC all-star. In 1988 Leroy was the recipient of the President’s Trophy presented to the top defensive player in the CIAU. In January 1989 Leroy participated in the prestigious East-West Shrine Bowl game in Palo Alto, California – a rare honour for a CIAU player.
Leroy was a first-round CFL draft pick by the Edmonton Eskimos in 1989. He played 11 seasons with the Eskimos and in 1993 Leroy was an integral part of the Edmonton Grey Cup championship team. Leroy was a two-time CFL all-star and was voted the league’s Most Outstanding Canadian in 1996.
Leroy finished his professional career close to his Napanee, Ontario home with the Toronto Argonauts.
