SHERBROOKE, Que. – Heather Lindsay recorded a double-double while Nicole Gilmore led all scorers with 18 points as the No. 2-ranked Carleton Ravens topped the Bishop's Gaiters 68-52 in Lennoxville on Sunday afternoon. The game was the last women's basketball pre-season contest for both teams.
On Bishop's side, the lone Gaiter in double figures was 6-4 centre
Mara Marchizotti. She tallied 13 points and grabbed eight boards in 34 minutes of floor time. Even with the loss, the Gaiters wrapped up their pre-season schedule with a 5-2 record against U Sports competition.
Lindsay scored 15 points on 7-for-13 shooting and hauled in 11 rebounds for the Ravens, who improved to 9-1 versus U Sports schools in the preseason. Gilmore controlled the game for the Ravens in the 29 minutes she was on the floor. She connected on seven of 13 shots and was 4-5 from the charity stripe to go along with six assists and a block.
Bishop's held tight with Carleton, whose only pre-season loss came at the hands of the top-ranked Regina Cougars. On Sunday in Mitchell Gym, Carleton led 16-13 after the first quarter. In the second stanza, the Ravens erupted for 24 points against only 13 from the Gaiters. Bishop's outscored Carleton 18-16 in the third but couldn't get any closer as the Ravens went on to the 68-52 victory.

Edith Noblecilla led the Gaiters with an up-tempo pace allowing Bishop's to take nine more shots than their OUA foes. Noblecilla finished with nine points and six assists. Carleton out-rebounded Bishop's 45-37 and got to the free-throw line 17 times compared to just eight for the Gaiters.
Next up for Bishop's they head to Concordia on Thursday to open the RSEQ regular season at 6 p.m. The Gaiters look to carry their positive pre-season into the 2016-17 conference campaign. It will be Norman's first full season guiding the Lady Gaiters, who are looking to get back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2012.
