SHERBROOKE, Que. – In the first game of the homecoming triple header the Bishops Gaiters women's soccer team lost a tough fought match to the Montreal Carabins. The Gaiters were unable to find the back of the net, and ultimately lost the contest 2-0.
How it Happened:
The first half of the match was very close with neither team finding the back of the net despite heavy pressure from the Carabins. Montreal dominated possession for the majority of the first half, but the gaiters defense held strong not conceding a goal. In her first U SPORTS start of her career Bishop's sophomore goaltender Danielle Derochers played a huge part in keeping the score nil-nil at the half. However shortly after the second half got under-way the Carabins were able to put home two goals in a seven-minute period. The Gaiters were unfortunately unable to come back from this deficit and lost the match 2-0.
