Bishop’s Boston Bound for Pair against Northeastern

LENNOXVILLE, Que. – The top-ranked Bishop's Gaiters are back on the ice this weekend when they head to Boston for a pair of games against No. 3 Northeastern in ACHA Division II women's hockey. They faceoff on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
 
Last Time Out
At 4-1-0, the Gaiters sit atop the ACHA Division II rankings released last week.  They dismantled Bentley University 18-2 a week ago. Bentley is ranked eighth in the east division.
 
Northeastern placed third in the rankings behind a 5-0-1 record. They have 24 goals for and just six against in their six games. A week ago, they rocked Boston College 6-0, a day after beating Boston University 6-1.
 
Both squads have played the University of New Hampshire. Bishop's skated by them 6-1 on Oct. 27 then Northeastern beat them 5-2 a day later.
 
For their part, Bishop's has 43 goals for and just nine against in five games.
 
Coach's Corner
"We will focus on us," said Gaiters' head coach Dominic Desmarais. "We want to play fast and skate north-south. We have to be ready from the drop of the puck.  We want to improve as a team and will use this trip to help build our identity."

Arianne Charette (Ste-Agathe, Que./Winchendon School) leads the Gaiters' offence with 10 goals and eight assists. Hayley Robitaille (Ottawa, Ont./Sir Wilfred Laurier S.S.) and Katie Locke (Tiny, Ont./Dr. G.W. Williams S.S.) each have 10 points. Maude Russell (Boucherville, Que./Andre Laurendeau) has handled the bulk of the play in net. She has a 3-1-0 record and a minuscule 1.43 GAA.
 
Estelle Ip leads Northeastern with 12 points (2 G, 10 A) while Catriona Hong has the most goals with five. Between the pipes Erika Dudek as played four games (2-0-1) and Tessa Griffin, three games (3-0-0).
 
Next Up
After the pair of games this weekend in Boston, the Gaiters do not have any more games scheduled until the New Year.  They will be in Lynchburg, Va. for a tournament starting on January starting January 25.
