THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Gaiters women's hockey team went 2-2 this weekend at the Lakehead Challenge Cup.

Bishop's opened the scoring but Iowa State quickly got a goal back to tie it up after the first period. Iowa State went up 2-1 in the second frame.  Bishop's tied it up and took the lead in the third to get the win.

The Gaiters took an early lead but by the end of the second period Bishop's was only up 3-2. Assiniboine scored three goals in the third period to win 5-3.

Lakehead University 4
 
Lakehead took a 2-0 lead after the first period.  The Gaiters finally found the back of the net late in the third period, but by that point Lakehead had solidified a 3-1 lead and took the contest 4-1.

Bishop's took a 3-0 lead. Iowa State scored midway through the second period.  The Gaiters took control of the game in the third period and won the game 7-1.

Next Up:
Bishop's is next in action on Feb.16^th and 17^th in Amherst, Mass. against UMass (12-7-1) at 7:50 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. respectively. They will then be in Storrs, Conn. for a 7:45 p.m. faceoff with the University of Connecticut (1-5-1).
