Late Goal not Enough as Gaiters fall to Stingers

SHERBROOKE, Que. - The Concordia Stingers picked up their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over the Bishop's Gaiters, Sunday afternoon on Coulter Field in RSEQ women's soccer action.

Highlights:

Madeleine McKenzie opened the scoring for the Stingers with an early goal in the 15th minute. Melisane Lafrenaye would add to the lead with goal in the 67th. As for Bishop's Cristina Tavares (Kingston, Ont./Regiopolis-Notre Dame C.H.S.) scored in the 76th minute thanks to a gorgeous header off a strategically placed cross. The Gaiters are now are now 0-4-1 on the season.

The Gaiters will travel to Montreal, to take on the McGill Martlets on Friday September 21st, at 7 p.m..
