SHERBROOKE, Que. – Two goals in two minutes in the second half buried the Bishop's Gaiters women's soccer team on Sunday on Coulter Field. The UQAM Citadins added a final tally in injury time and went onto a 3-0 win in RSEQ University action.
Laurie Cousineau opened the scoring in the 75
th minute for the visitors, then shortly after teammate Myriam Harvey found the back of the net off a free kick in the 76
th minute. Julia Liguori of the Citadins scored in the injury time to close out the game.
Danielle Desrochers (North Vancouver, B.C./Handsworth S.S.) started in goal for the Gaiters and made four saves.
Ligouri was named UQAM's MVP, while
Malou Merovitz (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain College- Lennoxville) earned the Gaiters' MVP nod.
