Gaiters skate past Korean National Team 4-0 on Saturday

LENNOXVILLE, Que. -
Danielle Armand (Montreal, Que./Cégep Gérald-Godin) scored twice and
Jade Shushu Saulnier-cyr (Shediac, N.B.) made 20 saves in the shutout as the Bishop's Gaiters women's hockey team skated past the Korean National Team 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in exhibition action at the Jane and Eric Molson Arena.
The Korean team was made up of South Korea national team players and members of their U-18 team.
Bishop's jumped out to an early lead.
Kayla LeTouzel (Vanleek Hill, Ont./St. Mary's C.H.S.) banged in the first tally just 1:14 into the first period.
Armand scored her first of the game at the 15:19 mark off an assist from
Meghan McGovern (Waterdown, Ont./St. Mary's C.H.S.). That came just seconds after Choi Yu-Yeon rang a wrist shot off the crossbar for the Korean's.
Pascale Demarais rounded out the first period scoring with just over 1:30 left.
Jessica Briere (Sherbrooke, Que./Collège Lionel-Groulx) picked the assist. That gave Bishop's a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.
An uneventful and fast second stanza saw no scoring or penalties called. Bishop's out-shot Korea 10-6.
Armand picked up her second of the game, from Desmarais, 6:48 into the third period to close out the scoring. Saulnier-Cyr earned the win and shutout between the pipes for Bishop's while Huh Eun-Bee made 34 saves in the loss.
