LENNOXVILLE, Que. – The Bishop's Gaiters women's hockey team continues to test themselves against U SPORTS competition. Friday they are in the nation's capital for a tilt with the Ottawa Gee-Gees while on Sunday they host the Western Mustangs in the Jane and Eric Molson Arena.
Bishop's
The Gaiters are 1-1 this year overall. They lost 1-0 to the Universite de Moncton of the AUS and beat the Stanstead College Spartans 4-3. Both games took place at the Jane and Eric Molson Arena on the Bishop's campus.
Friday at Ottawa
Faceoff 7 p.m.
Minto Sports Complex
The Gee-Gees are 3-1 so far this preseason. Most recently, they beat the University of Vermont 3-0 last Saturday.
A year ago, the Gee-Gees went 6-14 in the RSEQ regular season then were swept by eventual champion Montreal in the first round of the playoffs.

Sunday's game will be a battle of the purples. Bishop's will host Western in what is their de facto home opener. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m.
Western is 2-2 this year. They faceoff with the Carleton Ravens in Ottawa on Saturday night before making the trip to Lennoxville.
The Mustangs were 14-7-1-2 in the OUA last year. That placed them fourth in the conference. They swept the Waterloo Warriors in the first round of the playoffs then lost to the University of Toronto 2-1 in the conference semifinal.
