LENNOXVILLE, Que. – They knew it would not be easy. As the Bishop's Gaiters women's hockey continue their exhibition schedule, they look to use each game as a learning experience. On Sunday, the Western Mustangs were at the Jane and Eric Molson Arena for an exhibition game. It was the Gaiters second game in three nights against U SPORTS opponents, a first for them.
Sarah Irwin scored two first-period goals and Kaitlyn Booth shut the door as the Mustangs skated by the Gaiters 4-0.
Hannah Pelletier (Toronto, Ont./Humberside C.I.) made 28 saves in the loss for the Gaiters.

Western's experience showed as they carried the pace throughout the first period. Irwin scored her first 11:49 into the stanza; a slap shot that changed directions en route to beating Pelletier. Her second of the period was from almost the same spot on the ice at the 17:16 mark.
The Gaiters' best chance came when
Arianne Charette (Ste-Agathe, Que./Winchendon School) beat Booth but not the crossbar with four seconds left in the first.
The Mustangs jumped on the Gaiters quickly in the second. Brooke DiCicco finished a rush just 21 seconds into the frame. The visitor's fourth goal came on an Emma Suitor power play goal at the 14:08 mark of the period.
Bishop's held tough in the third. Neither team scored. The final was 4-0 for the Mustangs who also out-shot the Gaiters 32-14.
Friday at Ottawa
On Friday night, the Gaiters were in the nation's capital where they lost 5-1 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees. The score was 1-0 after 20 minutes and 2-0 after 40.
Jessica Belanger (Sherbrooke/) scored the Gaiters' lone goal.

The Gaiters will now have some time off before their next exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 26. They host the Korean National Team at 3:30 p.m. in the Jane and Eric Molson Arena.
