Gaiters score convincing win over Stingers to kickoff Homecoming Tripleheader

LENNOXVILLE, Que. – Lindsay Moore (Lennoxville, Que./Champlain College Lennoxville), Frédérique Rivard (Granby, Que., Cosmos de Granby) and Kayla Kyle (Vaudreuil-Dorion, Que./John Abbott College) all found the back of the net for the Bishop's Gaiters as they rolled past the Concordia Stingers 3-1 in RSEQ University women's soccer on Friday.  The contest was the first of the traditional homecoming tripleheader on Coulter Field.

Moore got the party started in the 11th minute
Concordia answered when Chloe Ricciardi found the back of the net just four minutes later.

Bishop's continued to press and the work paid off in big way as Rivard banged home what ended up being the game winner in the 26th minute
It was 2-1 Gaiters at halftime.

After the break, the Gaiters continued to control the pace. Kyle put the seal on the game with an absolute rocket from 41 yards out off a free kick for her second score of the year.  That coupled with solid defending earned her game MVP honours.

Sarah Humes was selected game MVP for Concordia in the loss.

The victory moves Bishop's to 2-5-2 on the year and within striking distance of McGill (4-3-0). The Martlets are in Lennoxville on Sunday.

Concordia falls to 1-6-1.

Next up for Bishop's is the crucial match-up with McGill on Sunday at 4 p.m. on Coulter Field.
