MONTREAL – The Concordia Stingers blanked the Bishop's Gaiters 4-0 on Saturday in Montreal in RSEQ University women's hockey.
The game was tied thorough 15 minutes with each team having chances. The Stingers broke the ice at 16:43 after a blocked shot and scramble in front of the Gaiters net. They almost made it 2-0 on the next sequence but Aglae Rene De Cortret made a huge stop for Bishop's. After 20 minutes, the Stingers held their one goal advantage.
In the second stanza it was all Concordia. They score 3:27 in and again at the 5:32 mark to grab a 3-0 lead. They took that into the second intermission while also out-shooting Bishop's 28-14 through 40 minutes.
The Stingers added a late power play marker in the third period to make the final 4-0.
Rene De Cortret made 36 saves in the loss for the Gaiters.
Next up Bishop's (1-2-0) has a quick turn around as they host the Ottawa Gee-Gees (1-2-0) on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Jane and Eric Molson Arena in Lennoxville.
