LENNOXVILLE, Que. - The Bishop's Gaiters women's soccer team is back on the field this week on Friday and Sunday in the first double game weekend of the 2021 RSEQ season. On Friday, the UQTR Patriotes are in town for a match-up with the Gaiters at 7PM. On Sunday, the Gaiters will be on the road for the first time this season as they make the trip to Université de Montréal.

Bishop's sits at 1-0-0 in the standings after a 1-0 victory in the 2021 season opener last Friday.

FRIDAY vs UQTR
The Gaiters are coming off of a big win in the season opener against the defending RSEQ regular season champions, UQAM Citadins, and look to improve their record to 2-0 at home. UQTR is coming off of a tight 3-2 loss to Sherbrooke in their season opener and are hoping to rebound this weekend.

SUNDAY at MONTRÉAL
The Gaiters and Carabins will meet for the first time this year on Sunday at the Université de Montréal. Similar to the Gaiters, the Carabins started their season with a win, collecting three-points from their 1-0 victory over Concordia.

ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT
This past week, goalkeeper Anne-Marie Ulliac (Edmonton, AB/Western Kentucky University), was named the Provigo, Robert Lafond Athlete of the Week, the RSEQ Female Athlete of the Week and the U SPORTS Female Athlete of the Week!

A second-year Modern Languages student at Bishop's, Ulliac faced a tough challenge to open the 2021 season with the Gaiters. The defending RSEQ regular season champion UQAM Citadins had 20 shots throughout the game, 13 of which were on target and required Ulliac to make a save. Ulliac proved to be a difference maker for the Gaiters in the 1-0 victory and was named the game MVP.
