LENNOXVILLE, Que. - Since the Gaiters last competed on November 2, 2019, the purple and silver have been anxiously awaiting a return to the field and, after almost two years, that time has come. The Gaiters will open the 2021 CUFLA season on the road in Kingston, Ont. on Saturday afternoon at 2PM against the Queen's Gaels in the first game of the 2021 season. With a new alignment of conferences and a condensed season of just six games, the CUFLA landscape may differ from the past but, for the Gaiters, the goal remains the same - make a return to the Baggataway Cup.

On training camp...
Training camp was really productive. The COVID-19 restrictions mean we are starting our season later, so we've had a lot more time than normal to implement our systems. It was gratifying to see how hard the veterans have worked over the spring/summer and we've seen some great stuff from our freshmen class.
On their opponents, the Queen's Gaels...
Queen's will be a tough opponent - they've always given us some great games. They are well-coached and talented. We are ready for them but will have to execute our game plan to come away with a victory on Saturday.
On getting back on the field...
We were lucky in that we were one of only a few CUFLA teams that were able to run practices last fall, but practices, inter-squad games, and exhibition scrimmages just don't compare to being on the field in a real game. I think we're all excited and anxious to get back out there with real stakes and talented opponents.
