The Gaiters were ready to disrupt the top-ranked Stingers on Friday night, when they traveled to Montreal for their last road game until January. The game started slow, but Bishop's was able to salvage the slow start with a power-play goal and faced a 2-1 deficit heading into the second period. The Gaiters persistence on the forecheck provided them some opportunities, and they flipped the script by scoring two goals to the Stingers zero. The Gaiters held a 3-2 lead heading into the final frame. The team in purple and white are no strangers to close games, but an early third period goal gave them a nice 4-1 cushion and set the stage for an epic last period. The Stingers answered, making it 4-3. A late penalty by the Gaiters and an empty net gave Concordia on 6-on-4 advantage for the final minute and change, but after ringing one off the post and the puck clearing the zone, the Gaiters put the nail in the coffin and walked away with a 5-3 victory. This marks the Gaiters first game of the season to finish with more than a 1-goal difference.
