After battling a nationally-ranked opponent on Friday night, the Bishop's Gaiters women's hockey team was back on the ice to face the #4 team in the nation on Sunday.
The Gaiters closed out the regular season on the road, facing the Concordia Stingers but couldn't keep pace with the top five team, dropping the game 7-0.
Sunday afternoon, the Stingers controlled the game early and never looked back, netting two goals in the opening 20 minutes.
The second stanza saw more of the same play from Concordia and resulted in the Gaiters trailing 5-0 with one period of play remaining.
Bishop's upped the offence in the final frame but couldn't break through, resulting in a victory for the Stingers.
Aglaé René de Cotret (Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Champlain-Lennoxville) and
Faith Miller (Oro-Medonte, Ont., Eastview S.S.) split goaltending duties for the Gaiters and made a combined 47 saves in the contest.
