Gaiters split weekend to close out 2023 campaign

LENNOXVILLE, Que. – Andréa Boily (Quebec City, QC, Cégep Garneau, Royal de Beauport) scored in the 59th minute as the Bishop's Gaiters women's soccer team beat the UQTR Patriotes on Friday night on Coulter Field.  The win was their fourth of the season.
 
Boily was named game MVP for Bishop's while Paige Robert (Ottawa, ON/St. Peter Catholic High School) picked up the clean sheet in nets.
 
Two days later the Gaiters fell 3-0 to the No. 4 Laval Rouge et Or on senior's day on a cold and wet Coulter Field.
 
The weekend split ends the 2023 RSEQ season.  Bishop's finished 4-8-2 and in sixth place in the conference.
 
Sunday, marked senior's day for the Gaiters who celebrated six graduates: Ashley Pitcher (Ottawa, ON/John McCrae S.S.), Marie-Pierre Beaudoin (Ottawa, ON/John McCrae S.S.), Zahra Metivier (Toronto, ON/Father John Redmond C.S.S.), Tiffany Smith (Innisfil, ON/O'Neill CVI), Pénélope Cabana (Sherbrooke, QC, Champlain-Lennoxville, Mistral de Sherbrooke) and Regan Simpson (Oakville, ON/St. Thomas Aquinas C.S.S.).

Les Gaiters divisent le week-end pour clore leur campagne 2023
 
LENNOXVILLE, Qué. – Andrea Boily a marqué à la 59e minute lorsque l'équipe de soccer féminin des Gaiters de Bishop's a battu les Patriotes de l'UQTR vendredi soir sur le terrain Coulter. La victoire était leur quatrième de la saison.
 
Boily a été nommée MVP du match pour Bishop's, tandis que Paige Robert (Ottawa, ON/St. Peter Catholic High School) a obtenu le blanchissage.
 
Deux jours plus tard, les Gaiters ont perdu 3-0 contre les Rouge et Or de Laval, classés au quatrième rang national, sur un terrain Coulter froid et humide.
 
La division du week-end met fin à la saison 2023 de la RSEQ. Bishop's termine avec un bilan de 4-8-2, se classant en sixième place dans la conférence.
