Jamie Aspropotamitis (Richmond, ON/Sacred Heart H.S.) scored the lone goal of the shootout in the fourth round as the Bishop's Gaiters topped the McGill Martlets 3-2 on Saturday in Montreal.
It's the third straight win for Bishop's who improved to 8-5-0 with the victory.
Charley Wing (Huntsville, ON/Mother Teresa C.S.S.) was in nets for Bishop's and was perfect in extra time. She made 23 saves for her third win of the season.
Bishop's jumped out to a blistering start. They dominated the first period out-shooting McGill 16-1 and taking a 2-0 lead into the break. The Martlets responded and cut the lead in half when they scored with one second remaining in the second period. They scored the equalizer 5:27 into the third.
In overtime both teams had chances, but ultimately the game went to a shootout and Aspropotamitis was the long goal scorer in the fourth round.
Gabriella Goodall (Ottawa, ON/Ontario Hockey Academy) and
Justine Turcotte (Drummondville, QC/John Abbott College) scored the other goals for Bishop's.
The Gaiters will now head into the beak currently tied for second place in the RSEQ.

Jamie Aspropotamitis (Richmond, ON/Sacred Heart H.S.) a marqué le seul but dans la tirs de barrage alors que les Gaiters de Bishop's ont battu les Martlets de McGill 3-2 samedi à Montréal.
C'est la troisième victoire consécutive pour Bishop's, qui améliore son bilan à 8-5-0 avec cette victoire.
Charley Wing (Huntsville, ON/Mother Teresa C.S.S.) était dans les filets pour Bishop's et a été parfaite en prolongation. Elle a réalisé 23 arrêts pour sa troisième victoire de la saison.
Bishop's a pris un départ fulgurant, dominant la première période en tirant 16 fois au but contre 1 pour McGill et prenant une avance de 2-0 à la pause. Les Martlets ont répondu en réduisant l'écart à la moitié lorsqu'elles ont marqué avec une seconde restante dans la deuxième période. Elles ont égalisé 5:27 dans la troisième période.
En prolongation, les deux équipes ont eu des opportunités, mais le match s'est finalement conclu par des tirs de barrage et Aspropotamitis a été la seule buteuse au quatrième tour.
