Box Score LENNOXVILLE, Que. – The defending national champions and No.3-ranked Concordia Stingers showed they are still the team to beat as they topped the Bishop's Gaiters 5-1 on Saturday night in Lennoxville in game two of an RSEQ semifinal.
The victory completed the two-game sweep and ends the Gaiters season.
Concordia will move onto play the winner of Montreal-Ottawa who are headed to a game three in their series on Sunday.
Concordia controlled most of the first period and were able to get on the board at the 6:51 mark. They added a second tally, this time on the power play at 9:04 to head into the first intermission with at 2-0 lead.
The visitors continued to press and scored less than two minutes into the second stanza. They added their fourth of the game with 3:15 remaining.
A Concordia goal 11 seconds into the third period all but sealed the game.
Bishop's got on the board thanks to beautiful Nelah Vigneau Sargeant shot midway through the frame.
Aglae Rene de Cotret was between the pipes for Bishop's, she made 18 saves.
