Playoffs are on the horizon in RSEQ women's hockey and the Carleton Ravens have recently made a push, threatening the Gaiters for the last spot in the elusive postseason. This Friday night matchup was the final one between the two teams, fittingly, with a lot on the line for each site. The Gaiters came out flying, scoring two goals in the opening period. A late Carleton goal put a dent in the lead, but Bishop's was too much to handle in the second. Another two-goal period, paired with terrific goaltending on the other end, gave the Gaiters a solid 4-1 lead heading into the third. The game plan was executed in the final frame, as Carleton only mustered five shots on goal, while Bishop's coasted to a 4-1 win.
How it Happened...
… Neleh Vigneau Sargeant (Dartmouth, N.S./Lockview H.S.) had a point on all four goals, including the two that she scored
… Maude Pepin scored the other two, adding an assist for a three-point night
… Aglae Rene de Cotret stopped 24 of the 25 shots she faced
… The Gaiters were 4/4 on the penalty kill
