LENNOXVILLE, Que. – Maude Pépin (Pont-Rouge, QC, Cegep Limoilou) extended her RSEQ league-lead in goals in big fashion as she picked up a hattrick in Sunday afternoon's 6-0 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the Jane and Eric Molson Arena.  Rookie Ericka Gagnon (Quebec City, QC/) was in net and earned the shutout.
 
The win moves Bishop's into sole possession of second place in the conference with 26 points and five games remaining. The Montreal Carabins have 24 points while Ottawa remains in fourth place at 16.
 
On Sunday it was all Bishop's from the get-go.  They were up 3-0 just over 12 minutes in.  Jamie Aspropotamitis (Richmond, ON/Sacred Heart H.S.) got things started when she banged in a loose puck on the doorstep at the 8:28 mark.  Just 50 seconds later Pepin scored her first of the game.  Gabrielle Santerre (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC/Champlain-Lennoxville) added the third on the power play.
 
The second stanza was all Bishop's once again.  Neleh Vigneau Sargeant (Lake Loon, NS/Lockview H.S.) scored unassisted 1:10 in then Pepin completed the hat trick with a pair of power play goals to give her 17 on the year.
 
Gagnon shut the door by making 30 saves.  Bishop's ended up 3-for-5 on the power play while Ottawa was 0-4.
 
 
The Gaiters are back in action on Friday, Feb. 2 when Carleton is in town at 8 p.m.

LENNOXVILLE, Qué. - Maude Pepin a augmenté son avance au chapitre des buts dans la ligue du RSEQ de façon importante en récoltant un tour du chapeau dans la victoire de 6 à 0 contre les Gee-Gees d'Ottawa, dimanche après-midi, à l'aréna Jane et Eric Molson.  La recrue Ericka Gagnon (Quebec City, QC/) était devant le filet et a mérité le jeu blanc.
 
Grâce à cette victoire, Bishop's est en possession de la deuxième place de la conférence avec 26 points et cinq matchs à jouer. Les Carabins de Montréal ont 24 points, tandis qu'Ottawa demeure en quatrième place avec 16 points.
 
Dimanche, c'est Bishop's qui s'est imposé dès le départ.  Ils menaient 3-0 après un peu plus de 12 minutes de jeu.  Jamie Aspropotamitis (Richmond, ON/Sacred Heart H.S.) a ouvert le score à 8:28.  Cinquante secondes plus tard, Pepin a marqué son premier but du match.  Gabrielle Santerre (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC/Champlain-Lennoxville) a ajouté le troisième en supériorité numérique.
 
Le deuxième period a été une fois de plus l'apanage de Bishop's.  Neleh Vigneau Sargeant (Lake Loon, NS/Lockview H.S.) a marqué sans aide à 1:10, puis Pepin a complété le tour du chapeau avec deux buts en supériorité numérique, ce qui lui donne 17 buts cette année.
 
Gagnon a fermé la porte en réalisant 30 arrêts.  Bishop's a terminé avec une fiche de 3-5 en avantage numérique, tandis qu'Ottawa a terminé avec une fiche de 0-4.
 
Les Gaiters seront de retour en action le vendredi 2 février, alors que Carleton sera en ville à 20 h.
