Box Score 3 SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's Gaiters men's rugby team moved into a tie for first place in the RSEQ University conference after a 27-14 victory over the Concordia Stingers on Friday night in Lennoxvlle. The men's lacrosse squad rolled through a pair of games with the Carleton Ravens and locked up second place in the CULFA East. The women's soccer team's season came to an end with a pair of losses at Laval and at Montreal and the men's basketball team competed in a trio of exhibition games to complete a busy weekend for Gaiter athletics.
The Bishop's men's rugby team hosted the first-place Concordia Stingers on Friday night. After a quiet start the Gaiters were able to get on the scoreboard first thanks to a
Nicolas Charlton (Montreal, Que.) penalty kick. Charlton finished the night with two successful penalties on two attempts and was a perfect 3-for-3 on conversions. Bishop's grabbed a 13-7 halftime lead. They extended it to 27-7 before weathering a Concordia storm and earning a 27-14 victory.
Max Grouette (Surrey, B.C.),
Lee Hudson (Sutton, Que.) and Max Ferland (St. Lambert, Que.) scored tries for the purple who improve their record to 4-1-1 (21 points) while Concordia falls to 4-2-1 (21 points). The Gaiters and Stingers are tied at the top of the standings having each beaten one another by 13 points. McGill sits right behind with a 3-1-2 record (19 points). Bishop's and McGill each have two games remaining while Concordia has just one.

http://youtu.be/ArGi-uHUHBg The men's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2014 CUFLA East regular season campaign with a pair of wins over the Carleton Ravens. On Saturday in the nation's capital Bishop's used a strong second half to pull away to a 14-6 victory. They backed that up 18 hours later with a convincing 12-2 win on Coulter Field. Bishop's ends the 2014 regular season with a 10-2 record meaning they will host the Trent Excalibur in the CUFLA East playoff round. That game is slated for Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. on Coulter Field with a ticket to the 2014 Baggataway Cup Championships on the line.

http://youtu.be/nRfUvbXa1cw The Gaiters women's soccer team closed out their 2014 season on the road. On Friday night they were in Quebec City to face the No. 3 Laval Rouge et Or. The hosts came out on top 7-0. On Sunday it was a date with the No. 9 ranked Montreal Carabins. Montreal took control early and went onto a 6-0 win. The Gaiters finish the 2014 RSEQ year with a 1-12-1 record.
Men's basketball was back on the court for three pre-season games. On Friday they tipped off with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues in Ottawa at the Jack Donahue Tournament. Toronto outscored the Gaiters in a wild one 97-91. On Saturday the host Ottawa Gee-Gees topped the Gaiters 80-66. Sunday evening the Gaiters hosted Worcester Polytechnic Institute of the NCAA Division three. The game took place at Bishop's College School and saw WPI beat the Gaiters 56-54. Bishop's will have one final pre-season tune-up on Saturday, Nov. 1. They travel to New York to play Plattsburgh State University.
