GAITERS STUNG TWICE BY CONCORDIA

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's Gaiters women's basketball team was officially eliminated from post-season contention after a pair of losses to the No. 6-ranked Concordia Stingers this past weekend. The Gaiters fell 55-49 to the Stingers in Lennoxville on Friday night before coming up on the wrong side of a 68-41 contest in Montreal on Saturday afternoon.
 
The losses drop Bishop's to 0-12 with four games remaining in the RSEQ University women's basketball season.  Ahead of them sits the Laval Rouge et Or (4-8) who have topped the Gaiters on thee occasions this year.
 
Leading the way for the purple and silver over the weekend was third-year guard Catherine Rondeau (Shebrooke, Que.).  She played 77 of 80 minutes in the two games, leading Bishop's in scoring with 10 points on Friday and 12 points on Saturday and tallying three assists in each contest.
 
Co-captain Danielle Lumley (Sherbrooke) also scored 10 points on Friday night and grabbed nine rebounds in 37 minutes of court time.
 
On Saturday it was rookie Genevive Onyeka (Toronto) who played a supporting roll as she grabbed 10 rebounds and scored five points for the purple and silver.
 
Bishop's will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 14 when the No. 8 McGill Martlets are in Lennoxville.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
