SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's Gaiters men's rugby squad shutout the Montreal Carabins in the third leg of the annual homecoming tripleheader on Friday, September 26. Coulter Field was rocking as the Gaiters put up 28 points while holding the Carabins off the board. Opening up the day was women's rugby who fell to the McGill Martlets, followed by the women's soccer team who lost at the hands of the Laval Rouge et Or. All of this followed the Gaiters lacrosse team who dropped a close 8-7 contest to the McGill Redmen on Thursday night.
Bishop's (2-1) men's rugby captain
Nicolas Charlton (Montreal) converted each of the four tries the Gaiters scored while
Lee Hudson (Sutton, Que.) and the defense held strong to propel Bishop's to their second win of the year against one loss. The four tries earned them a bonus point in the standings and ties them with Concordia (2-1) for top spot in the RSEQ.
"Our defense was outstanding," said Gaiters coach Charles Goode. "They won us the game tonight."
