SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's University women's basketball team close out the first section of the 2015-16 RSEQ basketball season Saturday afternoon against the Concordia Stingers. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. in Montreal.
The Gaiters (0-3) and the Stingers (0-3) are both looking to grab their first win of the season this coming weekend. Bishop's lost to No. 8 Laval 63-46 at home on Nov. 21. The current Provigo Robert Lafond Athlete of the Week,
Edith Noblecilla (Guayaquil, Ecuador), scored 13 points on 5-10 shooting and was 3-4 from the charity stripe in 31 minutes on the floor.
Freshman
Ashley Milhomme (Repentigny, Que.) matched her previous high of seven points in RSEQ play this past weekend against the Rouge et Or. She also contributed three assists and three steals in 29 minutes on the court. Third year veteran
Mara Marchizotti (Buenos Aries, Argentina) had six points, grabbed five boards and had two blocks.
Concordia is coming off a 59-54 loss to the No.3 McGill Martlets. Marilyse Roy-Viau (Mirabel, Que.) scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Richelle Gregoire (Ste. Therese, Que) also had 16 points and four rebounds on Nov. 19 against McGill.
The Lady Gaiters travel to Montreal on Saturday for a 2 p.m. game against the Concordia Stingers.
