SHERBROOKE, Que. - The Bishop's University women's soccer will hit the road for the first time in more than a month this weekend, as they head to Montreal for games against the UQAM Citadins and the No. 6-ranked Montréal Carabins. The Gaiters-UQAM game will be Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Saputo Stadium, while the Gaiters will face the Carabins on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the CEPSUM.
 
The Gaiters (0-7-1) sit tied for seventh place in the RSEQ after their 4-0 loss to Concordia last week.
 
UQAM (4-3-1) is currently holding on to the fourth and final playoff spot in the conference, as they sit two points ahead of the McGill Martlets. The Citadins split their last two games, winning 5-0 over UQTR and losing 4-3 to Sherbrooke.
 
Montreal (7-0-1) is tied for first place in the league, with the only blemish on their recording coming in a 2-2 draw with Laval on Sept. 23.
 
The Gaiters and UQAM have met once this year, with the Citadins winning 5-0 at Coulter Field on Sept. 23. UQAM led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Julia Ligouri, and scored three goals in the final half hour to put the game away.
 
Montreal defeated the Gaiters 6-0 in their first meeting of the season, on Sept. 16 at Coulter Field. Emmanuelle Alcindor and Leila Boudjelal led the Carabins with two goals apiece.
 
Gaiters goalkeeper Rebecca Bensimon (Dollard des Ormeaux, Que.) has led the team's defence this season, with 65 saves in eight games so far this year.
 
After this weekend, the Gaiters will be back on the road next week, as they visit UQTR and Sherbrooke. Their next home game is Oct. 30, when they close out the regular season at home to Laval.
