Gaiters hoping to stuff the net in pre-Thanksgiving matchup with Concordia

The Bishop's Gaiters women's soccer team will head into the Thanksgiving weekend by hosting the Concordia Stingers on Thursday night.

The Gaiters (0-6-1) are coming off a weekend that saw them post their first result of the season, a 0-0 draw with UQTR on Thursday, take a season-high 10 shots on Sunday against McGill and move into seventh place in the RSEQ university standings.

Concordia (1-5-1) are currently riding a four-game losing streak and lost their two games last weekend by a combined score of 9-0. They currently sit sixth in the conference standings, three points up on the Gaiters.

Thursday's contest winds up an unusual six-game homestand for the Gaiters, and Paul Ballard's site will be eager to head into the Thanksgiving weekend, and the long road stretch to follow, on a positive note.

The Gaiters are 1-3-2 against the Stingers over the past three seasons.

Kickoff at Coulter Field is set for 7 p.m. Thursday.
