SHERBROOKE, Que.  – The Bishop's University Gaiters women's basketball team lost 59-55 to Concordia on Thursday night in Montreal.
 
The Lady Gaiters had a slow start to the game, falling behind 12-0 with four minutes to play in the first quarter.  Concordia lead 18-4 after one quarter of action. 
 
Bishop's had a strong second quarter, outscoring the Stingers 19-10 to bring the halftime score to 28-23. 
 
The Gaiters tied the game up, 31-31 late in the third quarter, but was down by two with 10 minutes to play in the game. 
 
Bishop's tied it up again with 1:05 to play on a timely jumper by Mara Marchizotti.  Concordia made two free throws to once again take the lead.  Multiple attempts would not fall for the Gaiters as they ultimately fell 59-55 to the Stingers. 
 
Maeva Dinalle led the Gaiters with 15 points in 35 minutes on the floor.  Edith Noblecilla had 13 points and seven rebounds. 
 
Richelle Gregoire led the Stingers with 19 points.  Marvia Dean had seven points and 15 rebounds. 
                                          
Bishop's will host UQAM to open their home schedule on Saturday night, tip-off is at 6 p.m.
