SHERBROOKE, Que. – No basketball game in the RSEQ University women's basketball conference is ever easy but Saturday when the Bishop's Gaiters step onto the court with the No.1 ranked McGill Martlets the challenge seems that much greater. Tipping off at 2 p.m. at Love Competition Hall in Montreal, Bishop's will look to chalk up their first victory of the year over the dominant Martlets.

Flying over the rest of the Country
The McGill Martlets (13-1) sit in the top spot of the CIS Top-10 rankings for the second consecutive week. Four games up on their nearest conference foe, McGill has also locked down the No.1 seed for the RSEQ Final-4 set to take place from March 10-12.

And then there were Two
Just two games remain for the Bishop's Gaiters in the 2015-16 campaign and they are both outside of Lennoxville.  Saturday's matinee against McGill will be followed by a tilt with the Laval Rouge et Or in Quebec City on Thursday, Mar. 3 to wrap-up the season.

Simply the Best
As expected McGill leads the conference in virtually every offensive statistical category tracked by the RSEQ including scoring, scoring margin, free throw percentage, field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage and assists. They are also tops in assist-to-turnover ratio, assists, blocked shots, rebounding margin and scoring defense.

Bishop's getting better
Following a few lopsided losses, Bishop's has played some of their best basketball as of late.  They lost a 60-57 heartbreaker to the Concordia Stingers a week ago.  The last time that McGill and Bishop's met the underdog Gaiters held tight through the opening two quarters before falling 49-35 in Mitchell Gym.  In their other two contests McGill has been victorious 83-46 and 70-44.

Norman's notes
Gaiters coach Craig Norman returns to his old stomping ground. He was head coach of the McGill Redmen from 2004 to 2010.  He's back on the opposite sideline to lead the Bishop's Gaiters women's team in to Saturday's match-up.

"Obviously this is a big challenge for us," said Norman on facing the number one team in the country. "We are embracing it and looking forward to it. We are fully expecting to go in there and challenge them.

"Right now with this young team we'd play at two in the morning," added Norman when asked about the afternoon start time. "We don't know what we don't know so two o'clock in the afternoon is fine with us."
