The Bishop's University women's rugby team will return home on Friday night, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m., to take on the No. 9-ranked Concordia Stingers.
The Gaiters (0-2) dropped their game last week, 80-0 to the Montreal Cararbins in Montreal last Saturday. Bishop's has been led up the middle by scrum half
Jillian Simpson (Beaconsfield, Que.), who leads the team in scoring this year, along with No. 8
Taylor Merrithew (Kingston, Ont.), the BCS grad who was a strong presence on opening day for Bishop's.
The Stingers (1-1), were ranked ninth overall by Canadian Interuniversity Sport in the first rankings of the season, issued on Tuesday. The Stingers dropped their season opener 45-26 at home to Laval, but rebounded to dump the Sherbrooke Vert & Or 85-0.
The game is part of a tripleheader of action at Coulter Field on Friday night. Action gets underway at 4 p.m. with women's soccer taking on Montreal, and concludes at 8 p.m. as men's rugby takes on the Stingers.
