SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's University women's soccer team will play their first home game of the season against the Montreal Carabins at 4 p.m. on Friday Sept. 16.
The Gaiters (0-2-0) are coming off a 2-0 loss to the McGill Martlets (1-0-1) in Montreal last Friday.
"Each week I feel that our team is taking steps forward," said head coach
Paul Ballard. "Playing at home in front of our friends and family is a great opportunity for us to show everyone how much we have improved from last season.
"My expectations for the girls on Friday is to rise to the challenge that is before us. Montreal is a great team and have some very talented players, so we need to collectively stand up to them and believe in who we are and what we are capable of doing," the two-time All-Canadian added.
Montreal is undefeated so far with a 2-1 win over UQAM (1-1-0) and 2-0 over Concordia (0-1-1).
Women's soccer will kick off the beginning of a triple header, Friday night on Coulter Field. Women's rugby will follow at 6 p.m. and men's rugby at 8 p.m. Both face the Concordia Stingers.
