Halifax – On homecoming weekend in Halifax, the Bishop's Gaiters were not able to play spoiler despite a strong first quarter push. Saint Mary's held their home advantage winning 55-11.
How it Happened:
Saint Mary's opened the scoring early in the first quarter. The Gaiters got on the board off a strip by
Adam Plamondon (Quebec City, Que./Cégep Limoilou),
Elijah Williams (Pickering, Ont./Pickering H.S.) recovered the SMU fumble to tie the game. Later in the first quarter Vincent Dube gave Bishop's their only lead with a 27-yard field goal. The lead was short lived as SMU's Johnny King returned the ball 99 yards off a Gaiters kickoff for the touchdown. The Huskies led 14-10 after the first quarter. Saint Mary's scored again in the second frame to extend their lead to 21-11. The Huskies pulled away in the second half. Late in the third frame King scored on a punt return, this time for 56 yards and a touchdown. Two interceptions for touchdowns solidified Saint Mary's 55-11 win.

Next up:
The Gaiters are back at home next weekend to host Mount Allison at 2 p.m. EST for their last regular season home game on Coulter Field. The Gaiters will be honoring their graduating players before the game. Next weekend Bishop's University will also induct four new members into the RBC Wall of Distinction. Ian Breck, Tom Europe, Paul Connery and Francis Bellefroid will be honored on Saturday.
