OTTAWA – Matthew Patterson scored four goals to help the Gaiters grind out a 15-11 win over Ottawa on Sunday afternoon.
Joel Wright (Newmarket, Ont./Sir William Mulock S.S.) and
Eric Mawdsley (Innisfil, Ont./Trinity Pawling School) both had a hat-tricks to add to the Gaiters total.
Coaches Thoughts:
"A successful trip to Ottawa," said head coach Rob Engelken. "We had a strong game against Carleton yesterday and ground out a gritty win against a scrappy Ottawa squad today.We worked through some injuries and relied on our depth to get the 'W's'.
Simon Winquist (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) had a strong weekend with eight goals.
Gabriel Wapachee (Chibougamau, Que./) and
Zak Sparks (Jefferson, N.J./Jefferson TWP) had strong games at the faceoff X. We're excited to get to work preparing for our McGill rematch Wednesday."
