SHERBROOKE, Que – An early penalty kick goal by the UQTR Patriotes saw the Bishop's Gaiters women's soccer team down early in Sunday's RSEQ University women's soccer match. Although the Gaiters had a very strong offensive push for most of game, they were unable to find the back on the net and the game ended 3-0 in favour of UQTR.
 
How it Happened:
The game started out of a tough note for the Gaiters as an unfortunate handball inside the box lead to a penalty kick for UQTR. Marie-Laurence Ouellet made no mistake on the penalty kick and the Gaiters found themselves down 1-0 at just the four-minute mark.  The Gaiters had a strong offensive push for the entire game however they were unable to find the back of the net. UQTR found pay dirt once again when a defensive miss-cue left Maude Poulin one-on-one with Bishop's Keeper Mehana Heins (Ottawa, Ont./Merivale S.S.). Poulin powered a shot past Heins to put the Patriotes up by two. In the second half the Gaiters kept their offensive push strong but again they were just not able to find the back of the net. UQTR added another late goal to finish the match with a 3-0 victory.
