SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Gaiters lacrosse team faces-off with the Trent Excalibur on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. on Coulter Field.

Bishop's (5-1) suffered their first loss of the season, 16-9, to the Excalibur (5-2) last Saturday in Peterborough, Ont. On Sunday the Gaiters picked up the 12-11 win over Queen's (2-6). Trent has not played since their contest against the Gaiters but will face Carleton (1-6) on Saturday at 1 p.m. before coming to Lennoxville.
Previous Meeting:
Bishop's took a quick 3-0 lead to start the game but Trent came back to score eight unanswered goals. They led 8-3 at halftime. The Gaiters fought their way back to within one in the third frame however, the Excalibur pulled away again. Trent was too much for the Gaiters as they took the contest 16-9.
Joel Wright (Newmarket, Ont./Sir William Mulock S.S.) netted three goals and had one assist in the contest. Rookie
Samuel Firth (Ottawa, Ont./) and
Taren Cook (Rothesay N.B./Holderness School) each had two goals. On Trent's side, Garrett Eddy had five goals.
Rob's Rant:
"We're very excited for a rematch with Trent as we know we didn't play well for half of the game last Saturday," said head coach Rob Engelken. "We've got to focus on doing our little things better? and more consistently. This will be another good test for our boys and we're super comfortable with our game plan and preparation!"
Next up:
The Gaiters are next in action on Oct. 14 at Carleton for a 2 p.m. face-off and on Oct. 15 at Ottawa (3-6) for a 3 p.m. face-off.
