SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Gaiters had a great opportunity to get on the board early in the match with an Ottawa penalty deep in their own territory. The kick on goal was no good, and the Gaiters were not able to find the end-zone for the remainder of the game. Bishop's fell 101-0 to Ottawa in RSEQ women's rugby action.
How it Happened
The Gee Gee's jumped out to an early lead with their first try coming in just the third minute of the game. From then on, the Gee Gee's kept their foot on the pedal and continued to score. It was all Ottawa in the first half, until a huge run by
Erika Scott (Dewittville, Que./John Abbott College) brought some life to the Gaiters. The Gee Gee's were able to bounce back from the big play and went into the half up 46-0. The second half was more of the same with the Gee Gee's not backing down, and continuing to score. A late push by the Gaiters in the 77
th minute looked like they would get on the scoreboard, but the Gee Gee's defense would not allow it. The Game ended with a final score of 101-0.
