SHERBROOKE, Que. A second quarter run put UQAM just out of reach of the Bishop's Gaiters as the Citadins took the RSEQ women's basketball contest 59-42 on Thursday night in Montreal.  Bishop's led 8-4 after the first quarter but two minutes into the second frame UQAM took the lead and held it for the rest of the game. 
 
Bishop's (2-4) was led by Mara Marchizotti (Buenos Aires, Argentina/) and Marie-Evrardine Berrouette (Montreal, Que./Dawson College) both with 12 points and 10 and four rebounds respectively. Ashley Milhomme (Repentigny, Que./Collège Montmorency) added seven points and four assists.  Maude Archambault (Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Que./Collège Montmorency) came off the bench to score five points. 
 
UQAM (1-6) was led by Sarah Cabana with 20 points and eight rebounds.  Alexe Dufresne had 15 points and five rebounds. Jessica Lubin added nine points and seven steals. 
 
The Citadins were 24-57 (42.1%) from the floor compared to the Gaiters 19-66 (28.8%).  
 
The Gaiters are back in action on Saturday when they host the UQAM Citadins in the backend of the home-and-home series.  Tip-off is set 6 p.m. in Mitchell Gym.
