Gaiters Ready to Rumble in Rematch with Redmen

SHERBROOKE, Que.  – The Bishop's Gaiters lacrosse team is set for a rematch with the McGill Redmen on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Montreal.
Tale of the Tape:
Both Bishop's and McGill had the weekend off from CUFLA action.

In exhibition action, the Gaiters beat Bridgton Academy 25-8 in Maine and lost to Saint Michaels College 7-4 in Vermont.
McGill lost to Dartmouth College 11-8 and the University of Vermont 13-4 in Hanover, NH.

The last time, McGill and Bishop's faced off was only two weeks ago during Bishop's homecoming.  The Redmen took the contest 13-7 on Coulter Field.  Maxime Murdoch, Andrew Chase and Patrick Turner all scored hat tricks for McGill.  They never trailed in the game and scored six unanswered goals after Bishop's tied the game 5-5 in the second quarter.  A late tally gave the Redmen a 6-5 halftime lead then a 5-0 third quarter all but put the game out of reach.

For the Gaiters, Mathew Paterson (Pointe Claire, Que./John Abott College) tallied a hat trick of his own.  Gabriel Chamberlain (Roberts Creek, B.C./Elphinstone Secondary), Xavier Perron (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain College Lennoxville), Joel Wright (Newmarket, Ont./Sir William Mulock S.S.) and Thomas Bakeeff (Dartmouth, N.S./The Gunnery School) each found the back of the net for the Gaiters as well.

Coach Rob's Report:
"McGill is a talented team, which is no surprise and they are still going to be deep and talented when we face them this weekend," said head coach Rob Engelken. "The bottom line is that we can be an ok team, a decent team and we know that we cannot play very well at times, and we need to continue to do what we can to be a better team, and hopefully we can give them a better game."
