MONTREAL, Que. – Despite two goal performances from
Joel Wright (Newmarket, Ont./Sir William Mulock S.S.) and
Eric Mawdsley (Innisfil, Ont./Trinity Pawling School), the Bishop's Gaiters lacrosse team lost 12-6 to the McGill Redmen on Saturday night in Montreal.
McGill took the quick three goal lead to open the game, but
Sam Firth (Ottawa, Ont./Nepean H.S.) got the Gaiters on the board in the final seconds of the first frame.
Xavier Perron (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain College Lennoxville) opened the second with a goal but it was answered by two from the Redmen. McGill took the 6-3 lead into the halftime break. The Redmen extended their lead through the third and fourth quarter, despite goals from
Joel Wright (Newmarket, Ont./Sir William Mulock S.S.) and
Eric Mawdsley (Innisfil, Ont./Trinity Pawling School), the Gaiters finally fell 12-6 to McGill.
