The Gaiters broke open the contest, which was held at the Triolet high school in Sherbrooke, with a pair of runs at the end of the first quarter. They went on an 8-0 run over 2:20 to take a 15-7 lead, and scored 13 unanswered points in the final 3:31 to close out the first period. The Gaiters led by as many as 33 points, late in the second period, and cruised to the victory in the second half.
