MONTREAL – The Concordia Stingers took control of the fourth frame, outshooting the Gaiters 16-3 in the quarter, to take the contest 72-52 on Saturday afternoon in Montreal.
Ashley Milhomme (Repentigny, Que./Cegep de Montmorency) led all scorers with 21 points and she put up 11 boards.
Marie Berrouette (Montreal, Que./Dawson College) had nine points and 14 rebounds and
Maude Archambault (St-Augustine-de-Desmaures, Que./Cegep de Montmorency) had 14 points in the Gaiters' loss.
Caroline Task led the Stingers with 20 points and Aurelie d'Anjou Drouin had 18 points.
Game Flow
Concordia had a strong start but the Gaiters fought back to tie the score up at 17 to close out the first quarter. Milhomme put up a three in the dying second of the first to tie the game. The Stingers and Gaiters traded baskets in the second with Concordia coming out on top 34-33, at the halftime break. The third quarter proved to be another back and forth battle, but a few turnovers in a row by the Gaiters allowed Concordia to take the lead. The Stingers led 56-49 at the end of the third. Bishop's had a very slow start to the fourth quarter and the Stingers took advantage, outscoring them 16-3 and eventually winning 72-52.
The Gaiters were out shot 41.2% to 28.3% and gave up 23 turnovers compared to Concordia's 11.

The Gaiters will travel to Quebec City to face the Laval Rouge et Or on Thursday night at 6 p.m.
