STORRS, Conn. – The Bishop's University women's hockey team went 2-1 over the weekend.  They fell 3-1 and 2-0 to the University of Massachusetts and beat the University of Connecticut 7-0.

UMass (16-9-1, ACHA Division 1) opened the scoring midway through the second period with back to back goals to take the 2-0 lead.  Bishop's (12-5-0) answered with one of their own, by Arianne Charette (Sainte-agathe-des-monts, Que. /The Winchendon School ) but UMass was able to hold on and extend their lead in the third.  UMass took the first contest 3-1.

UMass did not allow the Gaiters to find the back of the net in this one, despite 29 shots on goal for Bishop's compared to their 22. UMass took the second game 2-0.
