SHERBROOKE, Que. – A new week brings a new opportunity for the Bishop's Gaiters women's rugby team. They head to Montreal on Saturday, Sept. 22 to face the Université de Montreal Carabins at 1 p.m. on Terrain Vincent d'Indy in RSEQ University action.
Year to Date
The Gaiters (0-3) are coming off a 135-0 loss at No. 3 Laval last week while the Carabins (1-2) fell to No. 1 Ottawa 49-7 in the nation's capital.
Bishop's has also dropped games to Sherbrooke and Concordia this year. Montreal opened their season with a win over McGill then lost to Carleton.
Coach's Corner
"Montreal is a well coached team," said Gaiters' bench boss
Tom Whyld. "They are fundamentally solid."
"We are excited for this week and feel if we play well we can compete. We had no injuries at Laval and will get a couple players back who have been out since the start of the year."
Last Season
A year ago, the Carabins beat Bishop's 51-12 on Coulter Field in their lone meeting.
