OTTAWA – An early Sunday morning wake-up call to make the trek from North Bay to Ottawa was what the doctor ordered for the Bishop's Gaiters men's lacrosse team. They rolled the Carleton Ravens 19-6 to put a halt to their three game losing streak in CUFLA East action.
A night earlier, the Gaiters fell 14-11 to the Nipissing Lakers in North Bay, Ont. With the tight turn around time, the Gaiters stayed in North Bay only to be on the road for 6 a.m. to make the voyage to the Nation's Capital for an 11:45 a.m. faceoff with the Ravens.
Bishop's jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. They were up 8-3 at the half and 14-5 after the third frame, eventually going onto a 19-6 victory.
On Sunday,
Mathew Paterson (Montreal. Que./John Abbott College) led the Gaiters with four goals and two assists while
Xavier Perron (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain College Lennoxville) chipped in with four goals and an assist.
Alex Tooth (Manchester, Me) earned the win between the pipes.
