SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's Gaiters men's rugby team is set to host the McGill Redmen on Friday night in the middle game of the Bishop's University Homecoming triple-header on Coulter Field. Kick-off is set for 6:15 p.m.

Bishop's
Tyler Murphy (Bromont, Que./Massey Vanier H.S.) scored a try, two penalties and three conversions (17 points) for the Gaiters in their 27-15 win over the Sherbrooke Vert et Or last weekend. Murphy was named Provigo Robert Lafond Athlete of the Week for his performance. With the win, the Bishop's Gaiters improved their record to 2-0-0 (9 points) while the Vert et Or fell to 0-0-2 (0 points).
Jack Shaw (Oakville, Ont./Shawnigan Lake School) and
Josh Bray (Lennoxville, Que./Bishop's College School) added tries for the Gaiters.
McGill
On Sept. 9
th McGill (1-0-0) beat ETS (0-2-0) 37-3. Jesson Gibbs scored two tries for the Redmen in the win. McGill sits behind the Gaiters in third place in the RSEQ standings. They are currently 1-0-0 (4 points).
Match-up:
Last year Bishop's and McGill split a pair; with the Gaiters taking the first game at home 32-17 and the Redmen winning the second 17-13 in Montreal.
Captain's Comments:
"We are feeling good, things are really coming together for us," said Captain
Carter Filion (St. Catharines, Ont./Ridley College). "Pieces that we have been working on, especially defense are very strong. This is easily our biggest test of the season so far and we would really like to put some space between us and third place."

The Gaiters will host Concordia (2-0-0) at 7 p.m. on Friday Oct. 5
