SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's Gaiters women's rugby team is buzzing for their home opener on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. against the Concordia Stingers on Coulter Field.
The Gaiters are coming off an 82-7 loss to the Sherbrooke Vert et Or (1-0-0) on Sunday afternoon. Concordia lost to Carleton (2-0-0) 56-0 in Ottawa.
Last season the Gaiters fell 123-5 in Montreal to the Stingers
Head Coach Tom Whyld:
We had a tough game this past week, and I am happy to see that we have recovered mentally and are strong and together heading into this weekend. Concordia graduated a fair amount of players last year but they are always a tough opposition so we will have to work our socks off. We are very excited for our first home game, with the support of the home crowd it should be a really good match-up this weekend.
Next Up:
The Gaiters will travel to Quebec City to face the Laval Rouge et Or on Sept. 15 at 4 p.m.
