MONTREAL – The Bishop's Gaiters and Concordia Stingers battled for baskets all night, but the Stingers won out, taking the match 78-68 on Thursday in Montreal.
Abdul Kamane (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) and Joany Castor-Thadal led the Gaiters with 13 points each.
Kevin Davis (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor H.S.) was the only other Gaiter in double figures.
Olivier Simon led all scorers with 21 points and nine rebounds. Adrian Armstrong had 15 points and six rebounds for Concordia.
The Stingers came out shooting as they took the quick 11-4 lead midway thought the first frame. Bishop's brought the score within four after one quarter of action. The Gaiters and Stingers fought to hold the lead in the second quarter. Bishop's took the 37-35 lead into the half, with a buzzer beating three from
Connor Kelly (Brockville, Ont./St. Mary's C.S.S.). Concordia and Bishop's traded baskets with the Stinger landing on top, up 55-53 after the third. The Gaiters were able to grab back the lead with four minutes left to play, but it was not enough as Concordia had the final push and took the contest 78-68.

The Gaiters will host the Stingers in the backend of the home-and-home on Saturday night in Lennoxville at 8 p.m.
