HUNTSVILLE, Ont. – The Bishop's Gaiters lacrosse team fell 13-12 to the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday afternoon in a CULFA East Final. With the loss the Gaiters will not qualify for the Baggataway Cup.

Nipissing's Tanner Poole opened with two goals, and Riley Sloan netted anther to take a 3-0 lead with five minutes to play in the first.  Bishop's scored two, but the Lakers held onto the 3-2 advantage. A five goal second frame put the Gaiters up 7-5 at the half.  The third quarter was even with Bishop's holding onto their two-goal advantage. Bishop's went up 11-8 to start the fourth but three goals by Nipissing's Sam Rooney tied it up at 11.  Sam Firth (Ottawa, Ont./Nepean H.S.) was able to put the Gaiters in control once again but the Lakers responded to tie and take the 13-12 lead to eventually win and end of the 2019 Gaiters lacrosse season.
